Circles

Circles are a common theme throughout my artwork. My first circle appeared when I was creating another piece of work, which left me with numerous smaller pieces that would otherwise be discarded. I used these pieces to form a circle, and by trapping them in between two layers of water-soluble fabric, I was able to create minute stitches between the layers, in order to hold everything together. This process means that nothing goes to waste, as well as forming a resulting artwork with contrasting, generally square, pieces in a circular shape.

Rusted washers also feature frequently in my work due to the versatility they offer.
